Using essential oils

I have recently launched a brand new collection of YNYS AROMA pure essential oil blends. These have got to be the most versatile of all my products so far.

If you're not too familiar with essential oils but would like to give them a go, you'll find this blog handy to plan how you can easily add essential oils to your every day life.

Using an aromatherapy diffuser at home has become increasingly popular. I was recently gifted one, I love using it and always get complimented on how lovely our home smells. An electric diffuser is great at quickly filling your room with magical particles of essential oils. Its an easy way to enjoy the health boosting benefits of aromatherapy and enjoy the delicious aromas of the essential oils.

A good diffuser is definitely a worthy investment, but not at all necessary to use essential oils!

Here are some other ways you can use YNYS AROMA essential oil blends and enjoy their benefits:

  • Add 2-3 drops of essential oil to a bowl of hot water. Cover your head with a towel to create a cape and carefully lean over the bowl to inhale the therapeutic steam.

  • For a more gentle effect, leave the bowl of water somewhere safe and let the therapeutic steam slowly diffuse into the air.

This method is particularly effective with my Inhale essential oil blend, to relieve blocked sinuses and headaches.

  • Create your own massage oil by diluting 8 drops of essential oil in 15ml of base oil such as coconut or jojoba oil. Use the diluted oil to anoint your body with some relaxing self massage.

  • Take a relaxing aromatherapy bath. Dilute up to 10 drops of essential oil with a tsp of base oil, add the diluted oil to a warm running bath. An aromatherapy bath allows you to absorb the essential oils through your skin as well as inhaling them from the steam.

Try this with my Nos da essential oil blend before bedtime. I created Nos da with stress relieving and sleep inducing essential oils, to help you relax and sleep better.

  • Keep a bottle of essential oil in your pocket or handbag while you're out and about. You can quickly grab it and smell the oil directly from its bottle for an instant therapeutic remedy.

I created the Moon essential oil blend with grounding and balancing essential oils. It's properties instill feelings of calm and mental clarity, this is perfect to use in moments of chaos.

  • Apply a single drop of oil to your palm, rub your palms together and inhale the aroma. Not only does this provide you with the benefits of the essential oils, but it also encourages you to slow down and take a mindful deep breath.

YNYS AROMA Sea essential oil blend is a must-have to instantly lift your mood with its citrus smell. It also helps to focus your mind, so it's a good one for the work drawer.

  • If you have any old wheat bags or scent sachets, you can top them up with a few drops of essential oil. Leave these anywhere you fancy... in clothes drawers, wardrobes or even your car to keep things smelling fresh.

Use my Sun essential oil blend to spread a summery glow wherever you go. I made Sun with mood boosting and relaxing oils to create that uplifted sunny feeling.

So there we have it, my top tips for adding essential oils to your every day lives. If you have any other favourite uses for essential oils, pop them in the comments :)
